Dear Finn European participants,

The organization of this year prestigious competition has been entrusted to Croatian National Sailing Association and passed to us, YC Labud.

We have a long tradition in sailing, what is not unexpected of the club established 90 years ago, in 1924.

But what we are especially proud of is that we have also a long tradition in organizing sailing competitions. This year in late September we shall sail and celebrate the 84th Mrduja Regatta sailed in continuation since 1927, with the exception of four years during the Second World War.

In October we shall sail and 71st Vis regatta which is the most frequented offshore regatta in Croatia. However, in the nineties of the last century we planted hopefully another tradition, that of organizing high grade competitions for the Finn class. Thanks to our world known Finn Olympic sailors Minski Fabris, Karlo Kuret and Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic, we have started organizing Finn Class events here in Split.

We strongly believe that you have already found, during previous Finn events here in Split, good sailing conditions and a skilled Race Committee. These two essential things will give you an opportunity to enjoy forthcoming event and some future regattas as well. We hope that once having European Finn Championship 2015 behind us, your memories of this event will bring you back in Split to take part in our annual international regatta Split Olympic Sailing Week. In the year 2015 Split Olympic Sailing Week will be sailed just before the European Championship, offering you a good test before the championship itself.
