"In our town almost every year held one big officially sailing competition with several other sailing events like the Mrduja, Split Olympic Sailing Week and other numerous regattas. This year we have the European Championships for the Olympic sailing class Finn, while last year was held Europeans in class Laser.

Given the importance of nautical tourism in Croatia, the tradition and the results of our sailors, as well as connection of Split with nautical tourism, all sailing competitions are very important and welcome because they present and promote the beauty of the Adriatic and our city.

The city of Split is proud sponsor of the Finn European Championships and certainly we all hope and expect that our Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic win a medal.
