The importance of this competition, the European Championships for the Finn class, is confirmed also by Hrvoje Akrap, Principal of Split Office for Sports who emphasizes:

- This year we have one of the biggest sport event in Split as far as sailing. After last year's Laser Europeans, now are coming the world's best Finn sailors. Sailing is still our indigenous sport, we all rely on the sea, and we have to admit that the sailing is a driver not only of tourism, but also the economy.

Therefore, except of top results achieved from our sailors for years, we should work on promotion of the YC Labud, the city Split and the sport as well. Because we have a God-given waters for high leveled regattas. We are good hosts, but even better are our guys on the race course...
